The machine factory Esslingen built special train machines between 1894 and 1896 for the marshalling and shifting service on the very winding road section Schiltach - Schramberg, which was opened in 1892 by the Württemberg railways. The "Schiltach" freight locomotive developed by A. Klose was part of this. This guaranteed a shock-free ride through the narrow rail arches.
