To improve the shunting and sidetrack operation, the Oldenburg State Railways ordered 15 3-double-coupled tender locomotives with 2-cylinder wet steam engines at Hanomag. All carried 2nd names of birds; the series became known as the "Oldenbuirgse bird exhibition".
The "STAAR" [starling] came into operation in 1898. From 1919 he drove on the Zwischenahn-Edewecht small railroad.
