It's surprising not to find any information on this music festival, which ran from 1892 until, probably, the Second World War, i.e. almost half a century. The 1936 medal was not the only one struck for the occasion. Here are two other examples, one from 1928 and the other from 1929, found on the net:
The main motif on the obverse hardly changes, although the shape of the medal is very different in 1929. The reverse, on the other hand, is very different in all three years...
