This is the smallest mountainous area in France, both in terms of surface area and altitude (from 400 to 901 m, with an average of around 600 m). Like the Massif Central and Massif Armoricain, it is a remnant of the Hercynian massif, made up of granite and ancient volcanic rock. Ecologically speaking, most of its surface is in the collinean zone, but its summits are in the montane zone. Climatically, it lies at the crossroads of oceanic and continental climates, with a mountain influence. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morvan?msclkid=8389b32cb81d11ec86323dea033b70b2The coat of arms on the obverse resembles the coat of arms of the town of Château-Chinon, where I found this token in the bookshop opposite the tourist office. https://armorialdefrance.fr/page_blason.php?ville=7807
