The Montenvers railroad provides access to the Montenvers tourist site. Inaugurated on May 29, 1909, it has its own station right next to the Chamonix SNCF railway station. The two stations are directly linked by a footbridge16. From Montenvers, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Mer de Glace, the Aiguille du Petit Dru, the Grandes Jorasses and the Aiguille des Grands Charmoz. Montenvers is the starting point for medium-mountain hikes (junction with the Plan de l'Aiguille via the Grand Balcon Nord, various itineraries to reach the valley) and high-mountain hikes (Charpoua, Couvercle, Leschaux, Envers les Aiguilles and Requin refuges). https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
