Comment

Ferdinand Philippe, the eldest son of Louis-Philippe, died in an accident on July 13, 1842, during his father's reign. The chapel of Dreux is the eternal resting place of the members of the Orleans family. This token exists with a representation of the death with the duke in his deathbed on the obverse.
