- The year 1970 does not correspond to any anniversary concerning Queen Victoria and a coin with the year 1870 wouldn't get the same design.
- The fact that the mint mark on the reverse is the cornucopia does not necessarily imply that this medal was struck by “La monnaie de Paris”. Especially since the general engraver's mark (an inverted pentagon) is stylized and anachronistic.
