Comment
It is expected that this token is for the New year cakes. Following tradition a coin was put in a holiday cake, which were sold by the chain of the company. In fact local bakeries instead of gold coin put a token usually with images of a sovereign of the United Kingdom. These tokens should be easily distinguished from the gold coins.Pirillos was established in 1930 and till 1970s there was just one bakery in Kiti. The inscription on Obv. is in plural, that is why the token is later. The year 1879 could refer to the year of the first Cyprus modern coinage. In practice for the New year 2018 Pirillos used other token with Victoria sovereign type https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces92215.html
