Comment

The battle of Denain, which took place on July 24, 1712, was a decisive episode in the War of the Spanish Succession. It resulted in a victory of the French armies commanded by Marshal de Villars over the Austro-Hollanders of Prince Eugene. It allows after several French defeats to negotiate a favorable peace.
