Very well preserved and little altered, the Château de Langeais is a fine example of late medieval architecture, characterized by its drawbridge, high roofs, machicolations, parapet walk and finely sculpted monumental fireplaces, unique throughout France (with the exception of Bourges, where the same type of fireplaces can be found).Langeais is in fact built at the crossroads between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, with its west facade on the garden side showing a completely different face, marked by Renaissance-style decorations. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_de_LangeaisPrice
