In the late 1980s, the Benedictines decided to leave Hautecombe Abbey, which had become too touristy. They left for the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Ganagobie and asked the Chemin Neuf community to replace them. The Chemin Neuf community agreed to settle there in 1992. This community is inspired by the spirituality of Saint Ignatius of Loyola and the experience of the charismatic renewal. In particular, it organizes sessions of theological formation. https://fr. wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbaye_d'Hautecombe
