Louis de Funès de Galarza, known as Louis de Funès, was a French comic actor who was born on July 31, 1914 in Courbevoie and died on January 27, 1983 in Nantes.Located in Saint-Raphaël in the Var department, the Louis-de-Funès museum, launched at the instigation of the actor's granddaughter, follows on from the Musée de Louis, a first museum closed in 2016 established in his château in Clermont, and recovers its collection, including loans from the de Funès family. Being on the Côte d'Azur, the museum is also close to the Musée de la Gendarmerie et du Cinéma de Saint-Tropez, dedicated to the Gendarme de Saint-Tropez films. The Musée Louis-de-Funès will be inaugurated on July 31, 2019, the hundred and fifth anniversary of the birth of Louis de Funès. One month after its opening, it has achieved three quarters of its annual attendance target, with one thousand visitors per day.
