Linked to the philanthropic movement of the Enlightenment, he granted annuities to religious institutions in his hometown, for their social works. In 1782, he founded a drawing school that still exists today under the name École de La Tour.
In 1784, suffering from senile dementia, his family moved him back to Saint-Quentin. After his death in 1788, his workshop and much of his work were bequeathed to the town of Saint-Quentin by his brother. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quentin_de_La_Tour
