The Great Mosque of Paris, sometimes abbreviated to "the Great Mosque", is a French mosque of Moorish style with a minaret of 33 meters. It is located 6, rue Georges-Desplas in the Jardin-des-Plantes district of the 5th arrondissement of Paris. The mosque, inaugurated on July 15, 1926, was founded by Si Kaddour Benghabrit. It has an important symbolic place for the visibility of Islam and Muslims in France. It is the oldest mosque in mainland France.
