The archaeological site of Grand is located in and around the village of Grand, in the French department of Vosges in the Grand Est region. It probably corresponds to the Gallo-Roman city of Andesina, part of the civitas of the Leucs, which must have had nearly 20,000 inhabitants spread out over an area much larger than that of the present village.
The archaeological site, managed by the Vosges departmental council, includes the 17,000-seat amphitheater and the 232 m2 mosaic paving a building traditionally called a "basilica", both listed as historical monuments in 1846 and 1884 respectively. As a sanctuary dedicated to Apollo Grannus is mentioned in various texts, archaeologists have been trying since the 19th century to find this building, but their efforts have been in vain. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Site_archéologique_de_Grand
