The first exhibition in France dedicated to renowned British artist Grayson Perry, "Vanité, Identité, Sexualité" runs from 19/10/2018 to 03/02/2019 at La Monnaie de Paris. His works in ceramics, metal, tapestries and prints are ironic, gritty reflections on universal issues such as identity, gender, class, religion and sexuality.

Grayson Perry plays with his own identity, which becomes an integral part of his work and goes beyond the boundaries of the art world. Autobiographical references to the artist's childhood, his family and his alter ego Claire go hand in hand with questions about being and appearing, social class and trends, and the status of the artist in relation to that of artisans.

Like the medal necklace, the Teddy Bear mini-medal takes its design cue from Grayson Perry's teddy bear. Here, Alan is depicted as a conquering hero with armor and horse. The teddy bear's posture even evokes Jacques-Louis David's painting of Napoleon.
