Comment

Located on the south side of Montery Bay on the southern edge of the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, the mission is often referred to as Mission Carmel. It was the second of the California Missions founded by Father Junipero Serra and was said to be his favorite. The frame around the bust of Junipero Serra is a common shape of windows in the California Missions as well as the shape of the fountains at the Missions.
