Comment
Probably distributed at school and charity events. On St. Nicholas Day 1929, Princess Marie-José, daughter of King Albert I, was 24 years old. It is part of the role of royal princes to take part in such events. The family of Albert I was sensitive to socialist ideas and very compassionate towards the little people, in contrast to the more "inaccessible" attitude of Leopold II. Another medallion found on the net shows the same portrait attributed to Devreese. It relates to a different subject: the consultation of infants in Brussels. These two medallions bear witness to the close-knit attitude of the royal family.
