The town of Huy
Huy (pronounced [ɥi] or [wi]; Walloon Hu pronounced locally [hœ]; Dutch Hoei) is a French-speaking town in Belgium, located in the Walloon Region, chief town of a district in the province of Liège. Huy lies on the Meuse at its confluence with the Hoyoux, halfway between Namur and Liège.
The town's coat of arms was granted on May 16, 1960. Huy belonged to the principality of Liège and therefore used a variant of the Liège coat of arms in its ancient seal. Known since the end of the 12th century, this seal showed the perron of Liège flanked by two fleurs-de-lys. In the mid-13th century, the fleurs-de-lis were replaced by two dogs. In the 15th century, the seal showed a castle with three towers and a banner on each tower. This castle remained on the seal until the end of the 18th century. The town council opted for this coat of arms in 1813, but a completely different coat of arms - a lion with the letter H - was granted on September 28, 1819. The letter V was added in 1960.

Blazon: Gules, a fortified castle Or, open Azure, consisting of a quadrilateral of walls, seen in perspective, with a round tower with conical roof at each of the three visible corners, topped by a weathervane, the dexter tower contourné, the central two-storey tower, open Azure, between capital letters H and V Or. The castle is set on a Vert terrace.

The competition
Lean cattle are animals intended for fattening. On the one hand, these are young male cattle aged 8 to 10 months, known as "broutards" or "veaux maigres", and on the other, cull cows. These animals are fattened and then sold for slaughter.
