Comment

The collection of the museum of history and archeology includes over 430,000 items, from the Paleolithic to the present day. They include ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and medieval collections. Here you can see tools and weapons made of stone, bronze and iron, as well as ceramics and architectural elements such as capitals, pediments and columns.

Among the collected objects there are also collections of jewellery, coins, icons and documents. There is no shortage of collections of historical maps, glass, silver, gold and bronze items, as well as collections of furniture, clothes and photographs.

In two rooms on the ground floor, unique exhibits are presented, such as the Serpent Glykon, dating back to the 2nd century AD, which is the only artistic representation of this deity in the world. On the upper floors, the collections are presented chronologically.
