This medal celebrates Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, one of the oldest higher educational establishments in Luhansk oblast. This center of education, learning and culture in eastern Ukraine has a great and glorious history. For seven years running, the university has been teaching in the town of Starobilsk, where it had to move after the city of Luhansk was occupied.
