This medal commemorates Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute National Technical University of Ukraine. One of the largest educational institutions in Ukraine and Europe, the university was founded in 1898. The university, which for many years has been among the top three Ukrainian educational institutions, plays an important role in training highly qualified engineers and academicians.
