The commemorative medal is dedicated to unconquered Kherson, the heroic Kherson Oblast, which is washed by two seas and through which the land routes to the occupied Crimea run. Kherson Oblast is a land with a long history, the land of Cossack glory, the cradle of shipbuilding. And it was Kherson Oblast that was occupied by the enemy from the first days of the full-scale invasion, and Kherson is the only regional center that the Russian invaders managed to capture from February 24, 2022. Kherson Oblast became one of the centers of the partisan resistance movement, the residents of the city and region, despite the danger and aggression, resolutely went to rallies and organized a public resistance movement. The city was under occupation for 256 days, but today the Armed Forces of Ukraine returned Kherson under the Ukrainian flag!
