Comment

The fortress is located on top of an extinct volcano in the Poiana Ruscă mountain range, in the Western Carpathians, Romania, and at the foot of the hill is the city of Deva. The real history of this fortress begins in the heyday of Dacia, defensive fortifications and an observation point have survived here. The Roman conquerors strengthened the walls and defended this fortification, because at the foot of the hill there was a trade road that connected to the rest of the empire and was called the Salt Road.
