Otto von Bismarck, Duke of Lauenburg and Prince of Bismarck, born in Schönhausen on April 1, 1815 and died in Friedrichsruh on July 30, 1898, was a Prussian and later German statesman.He was Minister-President of the Kingdom of Prussia from 1862 to 1890, Chancellor of the North German Confederation from 1867 to 1871, before becoming First Chancellor of the new German Empire in 1871, a position he held until 1890, while retaining his position as Minister-President of Prussia.
