The Vieux-Port is the oldest port of La Rochelle and the historical heart of this city of Charente-Maritime (Nouvelle-Aquitaine). The Chain Tower and the Saint-Nicolas Tower guard the entrance to this medieval port.It is thanks to this port that La Rochelle became important during the Hundred Years War, then with the discovery of America.
