The medieval château, built in the 14th century and perched on a rocky spur, dominates the Durance River and the village. Bought by the commune in 1957, it has since undergone a meticulous and remarkable restoration designed to restore it to its former glory: marble, stained glass, coats of arms, statues, French-style ceilings, mullioned windows and fireplaces bear witness to the past, and you'll discover them as you visit the chapel, the guardhouse and the seigneurial dwelling.
In the château's main courtyard, on your right, you'll see the flamboyant Gothic Chapelle Saint-Jean, built of Guillestre stone. Above the gable, you'll notice the bell tower with its four twisted columns supporting a dome, surmounted by a statue of the Trinity. Such a representation of the Holy Trinity would be extremely rare. The standing Father supporting the crucified Christ, a dove on his chest, is the symbol of the Holy Spirit.
