This token is struck by Pichard Balme in Saumur, a subsidiary of Arthus Bertrand since its takeover in 1999.
The Chassiron lighthouse, perched on a rocky cliff, is located at the northern end of the Ile d'Oléron, near the town of Saint-Denis-d'Oléron. The lighthouse allows sailors to enter the waters of the reef-laden Pertuis d'Antioche, renowned for its many shipwrecks. It is the oldest lighthouse in France still in operation, after Cordouan2. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phare_de_Chassiron
