This token is struck by Pichard Balme in Saumur, a subsidiary of Arthus Bertrand since its takeover in 1999.
Its first stanza, slightly altered, was used by Radio London in early June 1944 to order rail saboteurs in the VENTRILOQUIST network of Philippe de Vomécourt, a French agent of the Special Operations Executive, to blow up their targets. It was one of 354 messages sent to SOE networks in France. Verlaine's verses were intended for VENTRILOQUIST only, each network having received specific messages. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanson_d%27automne
