This token is struck by Pichard Balme in Saumur, a subsidiary of Arthus Bertrand since its takeover in 1999.
The Typhoon was designed to intercept low-flying aircraft, but its main role was to destroy enemy armored columns with its rockets (including RP-3s), particularly after the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944, and until May 3, 1945 (Cap Arcona). This was the plane used by Jean de Selys Longchamps to strafe Gestapo headquarters in Brussels on January 20, 1943. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawker_Typhoon
