Comment
Étienne Baudinet, king's prosecutor at the finance office, was elected mayor of Dijon on August 30, 1714, and remained in office until 1729. He bore azure a chevron broken Or between two mullets and in base a wild chicory flower. As is often the case, the motto on this token alludes to the mayor's coat of arms: "placed under a good star, all things flourish", he asserts here. Indeed, Etienne Baudinet's coat of arms features a flower under two stars.
