Comment
Robert B. Ruggles was a manufacturer of thin sheets and foil of metals. He also made trinkets for trade to Indians and shoes. His business was located at several different addresses during the Hard Times years. This HT-308 has BALE N.Y. (the minter) in small letters on the bottom of the obverse while HT-307 does not have that. It also differs from HT-307 by not having dentils on either side. HT-308A is a reeded edge version and HT-308B has a diagonal reeded edge.Montreal Gazette, 16 May 1835
