James G. Moffet worked with metal products at 121 Prince Street from 1832 to 1837.New York Tribune, 28 October 1843
This Hard Times token is interesting because the die engraver for the obverse motto made several mistakes. The E looks like an H. PLURIBUS UNUM is misspelled PLUBIBUƧ UИUM and has S and N backwards. Moffet's HT-295 still has the backwards letters, but with correct spelling. There are also differences on the reverses of these tokens, with HT-297 having the 6 leafed rosettes before and after TO ORDER which HT-295 does not have.
