Comment
The Rütli Oath, which is supposed to have taken place in 1307, is a founding myth of Switzerland, the first written record of which is to be found in the Sarnen White Book dating from around 1470. This myth is often confused with the federal pact of perpetual alliance of 1291 between the communities of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden, which is a historical fact .
