Token from Jean Sandt and Suzanne Wiltzius's café at 11, rue d'Émerange, Elvange. Apart from the café, the couple also ran a grocery store, a small lime factory and a brickworks. Raymond Weiller notes that the couple took over the business in 1912. However, Jean Sandt is already listed in 1891 as a cafe owner and shopkeeper in Elvange (OM-Z 10/04/1891). Following Jean Sandt's death on November 14, 1929, his wife continued to run the establishment until 1933. His children Aloyse, Léon and Félicie Sandt then took over the business, which was still in existence after the Second World War.Weiller type token no. 28, ordered via Adam Lennig. Type struck at the Fisch & Cie workshop in Brussels between 1920 and 1939. The Sandt-Wiltzius token was therefore probably struck between 1920 and 1933. Note the typo on the right-hand side, where the Wiltzius "u" has been replaced by an "n".
The establishment no longer exists.
