1901 $1 Lesher Dollar, Zerbe-6, HK-792, Silver, J.M. Slusher with No. 7, R.5, Imprinted J.M. SLUSHER / CRIPPLE CREEK, COLO., No. 7. Wilde indicated that approximately 260 pieces were stamped. This example is sharply detailed and glossy with uniform steel-gray and deep bluish color. Examination proves that the imprinting was done while the piece remained in the reverse die, with no flattening of the reverse lettering opposite the stamp. The pedigree is extensive. Includes the auction flip from the Bowers and Merena Millennium sale.
