The Côte Rouge mines were located on the Franco-Luxembourg border near Hussigny-Godbrange and Belvaux. Société des Mines de la Côte Rouge was active in open-cast iron ore mining.Société des Mines de la Côte Rouge issued tokens in denominations of 25 and 50 centimes, as well as 1, 2 and 5 francs. These tokens are unusual and all bear the year 1889.
