Seattle, a coastal city in the State of Washington, was inhabited by Native Americans for at least 4,000 years before it was settled by Europeans. George Vancouver mapped the area in 1792, during the Vancouver Expedition (1791-95) to map the Pacific Northwest. The Denny Party, arrived from Illinois via Portland, Oregon on the schooner Exact at Alki Point on November 13, 1851. The settlement was named "Seattle" in 1852, after Chief Si'ahl of the local Duwamish and Suquamish Native American tribes.

Owl Billiards, Inc. operated during the 1920's. References to it at 304 Union can be found in the Washington Gazette in 1923 and 1925. One J.C. Barmon was president and one R.C. Torrey was secretary.
