This is one of a series of tokens issued in the 1970s by the OK Bazaars supermarket chain for use by their employees when purchasing items from the stores.It is listed in Hern's Handbook on South African Tokens (Second Edition 2009) as #402g on page 191.
OK Bazaars is one of the oldest retail brands in South Africa, established in 1927 by Michael Miller and Sam Cohen. The business still exists today as part of the Shoprite group.
