Festival Kurirček was one of the largest literary, music and art festivals for children and youth in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. During its existence under the names Festival Kurirček (1963–1990) and Island in Art (1991–1992), 250 writers from all over Yugoslavia took part in the festival, over 3,000 literary meetings were held in more than 50 cities. Among the events that accompanied the festival and its program, there were exhibitions, concerts, shows of children's and youth choirs, operas, dramas, puppet shows, various recitals, academies and more.
