These were struck to promote the annual coin show held by the Edmonton Coin Club. As with most wooden nickel-like tokens, the die alignment is essentially random.Today, the Club is called the "Edmonton Numismatic Society". The show, meanwhile, goes on twice a year instead of once and is the largest dedicated coin show in Canada.
