The Burj al-Arab is a hotel proclaimed "seven-star" by some journalists, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Measuring 321 meters, it was, until 2007, the highest building used exclusively as a hotel (the highest is now the JW Marriott Marquis, also in Dubai). It is particularly recognizable for its giant sail shape. Designed in 1993 by architect Tom Wright, it is built on an artificial island in the Persian Gulf. (Source: www.wikipedia.org)
