Wedding and New Year token PersianIt is a Persian 'Nowruz' (New Year) token, from the 1950's or later. The inscription on both sides is 'mubarak bad' which approximately means 'good luck' so the token would be equally appropriate for a wedding.
Originally it was traditional to give small 150 shahi silver coins as new year gifts, but after the mint stopped making these early in the 20th century privately struck tokens were given. At first these were silver, but were gradually debased and were eventually just silvered brass.
