In five medallions connected by laurel branches, the heads of King Wilhelm of Prussia, King Ludwig II of Bavaria, King Charles of Württemberg, Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden and Grand Duke Ludwig III. from Hesse. In the center a double-headed eagle and between the medallions hatched shields with the coats of arms or colors of the states concerned.
