Founded in Neustria by Rollon, the Duchy of Normandy occupied the lower Seine valley from 911, followed by the Bessin, Pays d'Auge and Hiemois in 924, and the Cotentin, Avranchin and Channel Islands in 933. In 1066, William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy, conquered England and became its king. A century and a half later, in 1204, Philippe Auguste, King of France, invaded the duchy and incorporated it into the royal domain. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandy
