The Arènes d'Arles is a Roman amphitheatre built around 80-90 AD on the orders of Emperor Tiberius, as part of the city's Flavian expansion. The Arles amphitheatre is the most important monument of the ancient Roman colony that we can admire, some two millennia after its construction. Its architecture was entirely conceived in keeping with its vocation as a venue for large-scale shows, welcoming large audiences. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ar%C3%A8nes_d%27ArlesThe ancient theater of Arles was built at the end of the 1st century BC, during the reign of Emperor Augustus, just after the foundation of the Roman colony. Begun around 40/30 BC, it was completed around 12 BC, making it one of the first stone theaters in the Roman world. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%A9%C3%A2tre_antique_d%27Arles?msclkid=9d9a92bba85911ec93693933f02edbaf
