This token is struck by Pichard Balme in Saumur, a subsidiary of Arthus Bertrand since its takeover in 1999.
Born in Lourdes in 1844, Bernadette Soubirous was 14 years old when the Blessed Virgin appeared to her at the Massabielle grotto in her native village. Eight years later, on July 7, 1866, in order to fulfill her desire for religious life, Bernadette arrived at Saint-Gildard to live with the Sisters of Charity of Nevers, whom she had met at the hospice in Lourdes. For thirteen years, Bernadette remained in Nevers, devoting herself totally to others. She died there on April 16, 1879, and her body was buried in the oratory of the Saint-Joseph chapel. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Espace_Bernadette-Soubirous-Nevers#cite_note-L%E2%80%99histoire_de_Saint-Gildard-3
