Comment

The area of Windsor, NS used to be known as Pisiquit in Mi'kmaq, the language of Nova Scotia's first people. It was settled by the Acadians in the early 17th century and came permanently under British control in the mid-18th century. Once an important military and shipbuilding centre, Windsor is now a small, primarily agricultural town and is home to the oldest continuous agricultural fair in North America, held annually without interruption since 1765. Windsor was formally incorporated as a town in 1878.
