Winter Token (milk was cheaper in Summer, so different tokens used for summer and winter price changes); Made in New Zealand by the Precision Engineering Company (PEC)(Wellington); Holed to ensure that not mistaken for currency; initial issue of 250,000 tokens in 1923 just in time for Winter use; Significant number of varieties due to die failures as this was the first token produced by PEC. Withdrawn from use in 1973/4
