Don Vicenre Aguilar was considered in the 19th century as one of the wealthiest people in Costa Rica. With the field of coffee exportation and the importation of all kinds of merchandise, he created a company with large investments and substantial profits. Don Vicenre had a large number of coffee farms: in 1847 he bought "La Verbena" from Don Joaquin Mora for the sum of 18,342 pesos.
